Mark the beginning of the round as you see fit.<br>[k2,p2] for 20 rounds.<br>Knit one last round with MC, decreasing to 64 sts if you started with 72 sts: [k2tog, k7] 8 times. Otherwise just knit a round with MC.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>Alternative cast-on for Crazy Sock Lady fans ^^<br>Add a splash of colour to the cuff by using CC1 or CC2 for the cast on, and knit 2 rounds of [k2,p2] ribbing then switch to MC, starting with a knit round to avoid the CC purled stitches colour to mess with MC, then  [k2,p2] for 17 rounds.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Leg<\/strong><br>Stripes! \ud83d\ude00<br>The sequence is the following:<br>3 rounds CC1 (pink)<br>3 rounds MC (grey)<br>3 rounds CC2 (Potluck)<br>3 rounds MC (grey)<br>Repeat sequence for 60 rounds\/20 stripes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image aligncenter size-large is-resized\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"768\" src=\"https:\/\/anoknits.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/09\/IMG_3966Edited-1-1024x768.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-82\" style=\"width:457px;height:343px\" srcset=\"https:\/\/anoknits.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/09\/IMG_3966Edited-1-1024x768.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/anoknits.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/09\/IMG_3966Edited-1-300x225.jpg 300w, https:\/\/anoknits.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/09\/IMG_3966Edited-1-768x576.jpg 768w, https:\/\/anoknits.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/09\/IMG_3966Edited-1-1536x1152.jpg 1536w, https:\/\/anoknits.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/09\/IMG_3966Edited-1-1200x900.jpg 1200w, https:\/\/anoknits.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/09\/IMG_3966Edited-1.jpg 2048w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px\" \/><figcaption class=\"wp-element-caption\"><em>Do not cut yarn when switching colours; carry unused strands, twisting them now and then to keep things neat<\/em><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-left\"><strong>Heel<\/strong><br>The heel is worked on 32 sts, back and forth.<br>Garter heel flap: with the next colour in the stripe sequence (CC1), knit 32 sts, turn, knit 32 sts again. <br>Do the same with MC, then CC2 then MC again, knitting one ridge with each colour using the same stripe sequence as the leg.<br>Repeat until you have 16 ridges\/32 rows.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>The heel flap might seem shorter than your usual heel flat: no worries, it is fine, garter stitch is stretchy \ud83d\ude42<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Heel turn: with next colour (CC1) or MC if you want to save CCs (minis) yarn, knit 21 sts, k2tog, turn.<br>Slip 1 st wyif, knit 10 sts, k2tog, turn.<br>Slip 1 st wyif, knit to 1 st before gap, k2tog, turn.<br>Repeat last row until no side stitches are left, ending with a WS row.<br>You should now have 12 sts left on your heel needle.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Moving the start of the round: knit 6 sts with CC1, place marker for new beginning of round, carrying MC and CC2 with you, ready to be picked for the next colour changes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image aligncenter size-large is-resized\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"768\" src=\"https:\/\/anoknits.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/09\/IMG_3919Edited-1-1024x768.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-74\" style=\"width:324px;height:243px\" srcset=\"https:\/\/anoknits.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/09\/IMG_3919Edited-1-1024x768.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/anoknits.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/09\/IMG_3919Edited-1-300x225.jpg 300w, https:\/\/anoknits.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/09\/IMG_3919Edited-1-768x576.jpg 768w, https:\/\/anoknits.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/09\/IMG_3919Edited-1-1536x1152.jpg 1536w, https:\/\/anoknits.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/09\/IMG_3919Edited-1-1200x900.jpg 1200w, https:\/\/anoknits.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/09\/IMG_3919Edited-1.jpg 2048w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px\" \/><figcaption class=\"wp-element-caption\">Carrying the 2 other colours to the new BoR<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Gusset: knit 6 sts, pick up and knit 16 sts on the side of the heel flap.<br>If you fear having a gap, pick up and twist an additional st between heel and instep.<br>Knit 32 sts (instep)<br>If needed, pick up and twist an additional st between heel and instep.<br>Pick up and knit 16 sts on the side of the heel flap.<br>We&#8217;re back to working in the round from now on.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>If looking at the instep, this should be the first row of CC1. <br>Continue stripe sequence as established, decreasing sole stitches as follow, every other round, until 32 sts remain on the sole:<br>ssk, knit until 2 last sts of sole, k2tog<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Foot<\/strong> <br>Knit 17 stripes\/51 rounds in total, gusset included, ending with CC1.<br>Knit 1 round with MC.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Star toe<\/strong><br>Toe is knitted with MC.<br>Knit the chart below.
